Job summary

Text is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the SSO and account services, taking business requirements and turning them into technical solutions. You will align dependent teams across the company and ship projects end-to-end, collaborating with product managers and engineers.

You are expected to own backend systems, have deep OAuth protocol knowledge, and bring production-grade Go, MySQL, and cloud/Kubernetes experience to drive cross-team delivery and platform improvements.

Qualifications

• Owner, not ticket-taker. You notice problems before they're assigned to you, propose fixes, and push them forward.
• Fluent in auth at the protocol level with OAuth flows, tokens, and failure modes.
• Cross-team communicator, able to present solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Pragmatic, balancing correct design with shipping it and defending tradeoffs.
• AI-native: using AI coding tools as part of normal workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own the SSO service and OAuth implementation — lead technical decisions and communicate trade-offs.
• Work on text-billing: subscriptions, usage-based pricing, payment provider integrations.
• Drive projects end-to-end: gather requirements, design solutions, coordinate teams, set milestones, ship features.
• Proactively maintain services — flag issues early, propose fixes before incidents.
• Contribute to cross-company work: migrations and role management improvements.
