Job summary

Talanto is hiring a backend engineer in Poland to build a multi-tenant policy gateway in a Nest.js/TypeScript environment. You will work with the client’s staff engineer and a small pod to design, implement, and operate an API gateway between a claims platform and external policy systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering with TypeScript in production.
• Experience with Nest.js or a comparable DI-based Node framework.
• Experience building integration services or API gateways (webhooks, auth, retries).
• PostgreSQL and relational data modelling; writing migrations.
• Hands-on AWS (ECS/EKS or Lambda, SQS, S3, IAM, Secrets Manager).
• Terraform experience for DevOps infra changes.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the gateway service on Nest.js-based internal framework and AWS.
• Implement webhook contract: HMAC auth, secret management, IP allowlisting.
• Build tenant router and registry with composite resolution and failure handling.
• Create source adapter framework with per-source auth, timeouts, retries and circuit breaking.
• Develop batch path: SFTP landing zones, file validation, and PostgreSQL policy store loads.
• Define canonical policy model and mapping, review with client experts.
• Ship per-tenant observability: logs, metrics, Grafana dashboards, alerts.
• Write negative isolation tests, run failure-mode drills and support security review.
• Collaborate with client engineers across time zones; some PT timezone availability.
