Job summary

HeadHR is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to enhance a customer-facing platform. In this role, you will focus on improving backend services, investigating bugs, and designing REST APIs within a modular monolith architecture.

The ideal candidate will have strong TypeScript and NestJS experience, good MySQL knowledge, and the ability to contribute effectively to the team from the start. The position lasts 2-3 months, starting on June 1st.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to support ongoing development and maintenance of a customer-facing platform. The role focuses on fixing production issues, improving existing backend services, and delivering new features in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate should be able to join the project and contribute effectively from day one, working closely with the engineering team on an existing modular monolith architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in TypeScript
• Build new features and enhancements for customer projects
• Investigate and fix bugs in existing applications
• Design and maintain REST APIs
• Work within a NestJS-based modular monolith architecture
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions
• Ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability

Duration: 2–3 months (most likely until the end of August)

Start Date: 1 June

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with TypeScript
• Hands‑on experience with NestJS
• Very good knowledge of MySQL
• Experience building and maintaining REST APIs
• Understanding of modular monolith architecture
• Ability to quickly onboard into an existing project
• Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills
• Good communication skills and proactive attitude
• English speaking (min B2 level)
