Job summary

Emerge Soft in Warsaw is seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join the team building the heart of a scalable iGaming platform. You will work on microservices with Java or Kotlin, Kafka messaging, and a Spring/JPA stack to deliver high-load, reliable services.

You’ll own the full software lifecycle from design to deployment, participate in architectural discussions, and champion clean code and ownership.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of commercial experience in backend development (Java and/or Kotlin).
Deep practical knowledge of microservice architecture.
Experience working with messaging systems (Kafka).
Strong knowledge of the Spring ecosystem and JPA.
Proficiency with relational databases (MySQL).
Proactive approach, focus on "Clean Code," and ownership of initiatives.
Nice to have experience with OpenAPI, BigQuery and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Development: Designing and building scalable, robust solutions in a microservice architecture (High-load / High-availability).
End-to-End Ownership: Responsibility for the full software lifecycle – from concept to coding, deployment, and monitoring.
Technical Impact: Actively participating in architectural discussions, challenging the status quo, and proposing new technologies to optimize business solutions.
Scalability: Ensuring the IT ecosystem is scalable and ready for growing traffic and future market expansions.
Collaboration: Working closely with operational units and other technical domains to ensure a seamless "Player Journey".
