Job summary

Camunda is seeking a Backend Senior Software Engineer for the Data Layer team. You will help build and evolve the storage and query layer that powers Camunda 8’s process data, spanning relational databases and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

You will work on data pipelines, streaming data to external systems, and evolving secondary storage for scalable performance. As part of the Data Layer team, you will collaborate with product, design, QA, and SRE, driving end-to-end delivery of initiatives and

Qualifications

7+ years of backend engineering experience.
Strong backend systems and production data stores.
Experience with relational DBs and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
Experience leading medium-to-large engineering initiatives (3+ months).
Ability to investigate slow queries and indexing for production issues.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend data-layer services (RDBMS and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch).
Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives with cross-functional teams.
Evolve data processing, retention, and exposure of process data.
Improve secondary storage systems for performance and scale; build production tooling.
Participate in L3 support and on-call rotations with Support and SRE.
