Job summary

Avid is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Content Core backend team. This fully remote role in Poland focuses on designing and delivering scalable cloud-native services and REST APIs for the Content Core and MediaCentral platforms.

You will collaborate with global teams across Germany, USA, Canada, Poland, and India to drive architecture, testing, and continuous improvement. Key technologies include Go, Java, Spring, microservices, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of backend software development, including senior/lead engineering roles with ownership of complex systems.
• Proficiency in Java and Go, including advanced features and best practices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and RESTful APIs.
• Extensive experience with microservice architecture and cloud-native back-end development.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, SQS, and RabbitMQ.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality RESTful APIs and cloud-native backend services.
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions and mentor teammates.
• Participate in SCRUM processes and ensure timely, high-quality deliveries.
• Collaborate with Product Management and global engineering teams to decompose requirements.
• Maintain and evolve core Content Core services and tooling.
