Job summary

Autodesk in Krakow, Poland is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer (Backend/Full Stack) to shape the cloud-native Tandem platform, connecting data across IIoT and digital twin domains. You will lead end-to-end delivery, design scalable services in Go and React/TypeScript, mentor engineers, and collaborate with architects to drive platform strategy across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale software systems.
• Strong experience in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native web apps/APIs.
• Proven leadership in architecture and delivery of complex platform initiatives across teams.
• Proficiency in Go, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Java or similar; Go/C++ valued.
• Experience with AWS or Azure and data architecture.
• CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and modern delivery practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of major web app initiatives from strategy to implementation and operations.
• Design and build scalable, secure cloud-native services for high-volume workloads.
• Partner with Autodesk Architects to define technical vision and architecture for platform services.
• Hands-on development across full-stack with Go and React, adapting to other tech as needed.
• Establish engineering standards and patterns to improve reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering leaders to align investments.
• Guide teams through complex technical challenges while balancing long-term and near-term goals.
• Lead design reviews, mentorship, and engineering excellence across teams.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Promote observability, automation, and reliability engineering practices.
• Contribute to Agile planning and delivery improvements.
