Job summary

Synechron is seeking a hands-on Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable services on Google Cloud Platform. You will work across backend engineering, cloud architecture, security, and reliability while delivering production-ready code.

You’ll design scalable architectures, develop event-driven systems with PostgreSQL, and own end-to-end lifecycle from design through cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python or Node.js with production-grade backend experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL design, performance tuning, and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate secure, scalable backend services on Google Cloud Platform.
• Design architectures using GKE, Cloud Run, Filestore, and Pub/Sub.
• Develop event-driven systems and optimize PostgreSQL for high concurrency.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable services on Google Cloud Platform. You’ll work across backend engineering, cloud architecture, security, and platform reliability—while continuing to deliver production-ready code.

What you’ll do:

• Build and maintain high-performance backend services using Python/Django and Node.js/TypeScript/NestJS
• Design scalable architectures on GCP, including GKE, Cloud Run, Filestore, and Pub/Sub
• Develop event-driven systems and optimize PostgreSQL for high-concurrency workloads
• Own the full lifecycle of services—from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and cost optimization
• Implement secure OAuth2 and OpenID Connect flows
• Manage infrastructure using Terraform
• Apply zero-trust principles and treat security as a core product feature
• Collaborate across the stack, contributing to architecture and technical decisions
• Stay current with emerging technologies such as Go, Rust, and TypeScript

What we’re looking for:

• Strong professional experience with Python and/or Node.js
• Proven track record of delivering production-grade backend services
• Hands‑on experience with GCP, particularly GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and related services
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, performance tuning, and database design
• Experience with Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect
• Strong focus on security, resilience, observability, and operational excellence
• A T‑shaped engineering mindset: broad technical understanding with deep backend expertise
• Ability to solve complex problems and build solutions that make the business better, faster, and safer

Nice to have:

• Production experience with Go
• Experience with Rust or other modern backend technologies
• Contributions to open source, a GitHub portfolio, or a technical blog
• Experience designing highly available, event-driven platforms
