As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll contribute to building reliable, scalable solutions for our product, Tellent HR. You will shape technical architecture, make key decisions, and promote best engineering practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code across the full stack.
While your main focus will be on developing backend modules, you’ll have the opportunity to influence frontend features and user experience, working closely with designers and frontend developers. You’ll take ownership of critical components, guiding their evolution as the product scales. In addition, you’ll mentor team members through code reviews and pair programming, support cross‑functional collaboration, and help ensure smooth integration of new features. Your strategic technical input will align system design with business goals, while your hands‑on approach will help drive the ongoing improvement of our platform.
The Tellent HR product team is part of the Tellent R&D team focusing on the Core HR organised into two dedicated teams. Our particular sub‑team is a vibrant mix of Backend Developers, Frontend Developers, supported by Design, QA and DevOps teams. Even though we’re fully remote and flexible, we stay closely connected and collaborate daily. We also believe in keeping the atmosphere light and fun.
Expert skills in Node.js
Strong skills in modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
Full stack mindset – you’re comfortable (or willing to get comfortable) working across the entire stack, from database queries to UI components.
Product thinking – you don’t just implement specs, you think about whether we’re solving the right problem. You’re pragmatic and able to evaluate and make tradeoffs when necessary. Comfortable with experimentation and prototyping.
Hands‑on experience with:
Excellent communication skills in Polish and good command (> B2) of English
