We are looking for a Senior AWS/Azure Cloud Engineer to design, implement, secure, and operate scalable cloud platforms supporting software engineering, DevSecOps, observability, and modern data platform use cases.
You will work across AWS and Azure, combining cloud-native engineering with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, platform engineering and data/lakehouse architecture. The role involves close collaboration with globally distributed engineering teams across APAC, Europe and North America.
You will
- Design, build and operate secure, scalable AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure
- Develop DevSecOps automation, CI/CD workflows, reusable pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Build and maintain platform engineering capabilities and automation frameworks
- Implement event-driven and serverless solutions using Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions and CloudWatch
- Support data platform engineering across ingestion, transformation, governance, cataloguing, data quality and serving
- Implement data lake/lakehouse architectures using Landing, Bronze, Silver and Gold layers
- Work with Apache Iceberg, AWS Glue Data Catalog, Spark and EMR Serverless
- Implement cloud security controls including IAM/RBAC, secrets management, encryption, audit logging, vulnerability scanning and policy-as-code
- Work with containerised environments using Docker and Kubernetes, including EKS/AKS
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, operating procedures and engineering standards
- Troubleshoot complex cloud, infrastructure, integration and platform issues
- Collaborate with engineering teams, architects and stakeholders across multiple regions
Must have
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS across compute, storage, networking, security, serverless, monitoring and data services
- Working knowledge of Azure, including services such as Azure Functions, Event Grid, Service Bus, Data Lake Storage, Azure Monitor, Key Vault, Azure DevOps, Synapse or Fabric
- Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and GitOps practices
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, preferably EKS, AKS, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of data lake/lakehouse architecture
- Experience with Amazon S3 / Azure Data Lake Storage, AWS Glue Data Catalog, Apache Iceberg, Spark, EMR Serverless, Databricks, Synapse or Microsoft Fabric
- Understanding of event-driven architecture, queues, topics, event buses, workflow orchestration and APIs
- Experience with databases or serving platforms such as PostgreSQL, OpenSearch or Neo4j
- Good understanding of cloud networking, DNS, certificates, private connectivity, logging, monitoring and operational resilience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English and ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams
Nice to have
- AWS Solutions Architect / AWS DevOps Engineer certification
- Experience with enterprise software engineering or large-scale engineering platforms
- Experience in automotive, embedded software, or regulated environments
- Knowledge of software engineering metrics and observability
- Experience with data governance and security compliance
- Experience building reusable internal platform capabilities
