Job summary

Kong Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to create and maintain clear, concise technical documentation for our products, ensuring users and developers have the resources they need.

You will own the docs strategy for a product area and collaborate across teams to improve adoption and reduce support needs. You will develop API documentation, developer guides, and release notes, while partnering with product managers, engineers, and other writers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in technical writing within a software development environment.
• Proven expertise in software documentation, including API documentation and developer guides.
• Experience with API testing and relevant tools.
• Proficiency with Command Line Interface (CLI).
• Experience or interest in AI.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit API docs, developer guides, reference docs, and release notes for diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to gather information and ensure accuracy.
• Research to gather technical information from subject matter experts and product specs.
• Test documentation content to validate accuracy and clarity.
• Use CLI tools to test and document software features.
• Maintain and update existing documentation, including deprecation of outdated content.
