Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a seasoned Software Architect to drive cloud-native AI-enabled applications within the Gas Services Distributed AI Factory in Warsaw. You will shape end-to-end software architecture, lead microservice designs, and ensure scalable, secure data platforms across AWS and Kubernetes.

You will mentor engineering teams, collaborate with AI engineers, and promote best practices in CI/CD and API design while advancing RAG-based AI capabilities and distributed systems knowledge.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including recent roles as Software Architect or IT Architect.
• Strong background in designing and implementing distributed systems using Java, Node.js, Python, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and cloud-native runtimes such as containers and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of data-intensive application design, including relational databases and search technologies.
• Familiarity with AI and data use cases such as system integration with AI services and RAG-based solutions.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams and driving Agile ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end software architecture for cloud-native, data-intensive, and AI-enabled applications on platforms like AWS.
• Lead the design of microservices, APIs, and event-driven integrations to enable data products, analytics platforms, and AI workloads with high-quality, well-governed data.
• Partner with data and AI engineers to embed Retrieval-Augmented Generation, recommender systems, and other AI capabilities into production services.
• Drive cloud-native modernization initiatives, refactoring monoliths into modular architectures and guiding PoCs and co-creation activities.
• Establish and promote architecture standards, reusable patterns, and best practices for secure software development, API design, and CI/CD.
• Act as a technical lead for distributed engineering teams, providing hands-on guidance in Java, Node.js, Python, and JavaScript frameworks.
