Job summary

5Blue Software is seeking a Software Engineer who uses AI as a core part of development to build, understand, and maintain complex systems. You will work across a large ecosystem of services, libraries, REST APIs, and data pipelines, applying AI tools to accelerate delivery and improve reliability.

You will own features end-to-end, collaborate on architecture, and adapt quickly to unfamiliar codebases while delivering scalable solutions across backend and frontend components.

Qualifications

• Proven experience using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in daily development.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, API design, and data modeling.
• Experience with asynchronous processing (queues, retries, idempotency) and robust testing/debugging practices.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend ecosystem (Python/Node.js/Go/Java/.NET/PHP or similar).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and frontend features.
• Design and implement APIs, integrations, and business workflows.
• Work with asynchronous processing, queues, retries, and scheduled tasks.
• Design reliable solutions across multiple services and databases.
• Use AI tools to navigate complex codebases and speed up development.
• Own features end-to-end: analysis, implementation, testing, code reviews, and deployment.
• Collaborate with the team on architecture decisions and continuous improvement.
