Job summary

Jeppesen ForeFlight is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to accelerate modernization of aviation products. You will embed in a small, cross-functional product team and own the full delivery lifecycle—from clarifying problems and shaping solutions through implementation, testing, deployment, and operation.

The ideal candidate combines broad software engineering with strong technical judgment, production-system experience, and comfort with AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Strong Python or equivalent language skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to deliver changes in real software systems.
• Ability to decompose ambiguous work into clear, bounded tasks with context and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated designs and implementations.
• Strong understanding of testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate software for aviation products and modernization initiatives, owning significant components.
• Translate ambiguous product outcomes into clear technical designs, interfaces, and acceptance criteria.
• Use coding agents and AI-assisted development tools across the software lifecycle.
• Decompose and structure work so engineers and agents can execute effectively and integrate results.
• Critically evaluate AI-generated solutions for correctness, architecture, security, and maintainability.
• Lead by example in code review and production support; drive continuous improvement of engineering practices.
