Job summary

Jacobs is building a Digital & Data Hub in Krakow to deliver Snowflake-based data platforms that empower GenAI and advanced AI use cases at enterprise scale. The Senior AI/Data Platform Engineer will design, build, and operate cloud-native data architectures, pipelines, and LLM-enabled workflows, collaborating with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure production readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, AI engineering, or platform engineering roles.
• Hands-on production level experience with Snowflake, including data modelling, ELT patterns, and performance optimisation.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or similar languages.
• Solid experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, and modern lakehouse or hybrid architectures.
• Practical understanding of GenAI architectures (RAG, LLM powered systems, agent based workflows).
• Experience working with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search.
• Experience operating data and AI workloads in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
• Strong analytical mindset, ownership attitude, and ability to design solutions for enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate Snowflake based data platforms supporting analytics, AI, ML, and GenAI workloads.
• Build and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines (batch and real time) using modern cloud data technologies.
• Design and optimise cloud native data architectures for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Integrate and manage large, complex datasets from internal and external sources.
• Enable advanced GenAI use cases, including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), vector search, and agent‑based workflows.
• Design and develop LLM based agent solutions and agentic workflows integrated with data platforms.
• Work with embeddings, vector databases, indexing, and re‑ranking techniques to improve LLM output quality.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure platforms fully support model development and production.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data platforms and pipelines to ensure reliability and scalability.
• Implement and improve CI/CD, data quality, and observability practices for data and AI workloads.
• Contribute to platform standards, best practices, and technical evolution across the organization.

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI / Data Platform Engineer to play a key role in building and operating Snowflake based data platforms that enable GenAI and advanced AI use cases at enterprise scale.

The primary focus of this role is designing, building, and operating Snowflake based data platforms that enable GenAI and advanced AI use cases across the organization. This is a data platform first role with strong exposure to GenAI, rather than a pure research or modeling position.

Here’s what you’ll need
