Job summary

Talanto is seeking a Security Firmware Engineer to join its Data Center Engineering team. You will develop and maintain firmware for SSDs, working with C/C++/Rust across RTOS environments, and interfacing with hardware and ASIC design teams.

You will participate in Agile methods, contribute to architecture decisions, and ensure high quality through rigorous testing. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, emphasis on embedded systems, and opportunities to shape future storage

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in embedded software/firmware development.
• Experience with C/C++/Rust in embedded RTOS environments.
• Proficient with development tools: compilers, debuggers, emulators, toolchains.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, document, and maintain firmware and source code in C/C++/Rust.
• Analyze firmware per internal and customer specifications and perform testing.
• Diagnose issues with unit and system-level tests and provide debugging support.
• Develop low-level firmware and system architectures in collaboration with hardware/ASIC teams.
• Collaborate across firmware disciplines to enhance the SSD architecture.
• Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into plans and milestones.
• Foster an Agile/Kanban culture focused on quality and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate priorities with other engineering teams to meet milestones.
