Job summary

FlixBus is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to support security tooling and incident response on a project basis. The consultant will work with security, infrastructure and software teams to improve FlixBus’s security posture and reduce manual operations.

The role emphasizes client-side security, automation using Python, and collaboration with stakeholders in a fast-moving environment. English proficiency is required for cross-border coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience with client security applications, including email security and endpoint protection.
• Hands-on incident response and service desk ticket handling.
• Strong Python programming for maintainable automation.
• Experience with monitoring/SIEM tools (Splunk, ElasticSearch, Datadog).
• Excellent collaboration and communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Professional English proficiency (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Set up and configure client security tools related to email security, access management, and asset protection with the internal security team.
• Automate incident response processes and repetitive security workflows using Python to reduce manual effort.
• Support incident response activities related to client-side security events across the organisation.
• Review existing security measures and provide concrete recommendations for detections and runbooks.
