Security-Centric C++ Engineer for Healthcare Systems

Job summary

SoftServe is seeking an experienced C++ security engineer to contribute to a healthcare product. You will analyze security requirements, implement fixes, and address vulnerabilities in a large legacy C++ codebase, collaborating with developers and architects to ensure security, stability, and reliability.

The role involves code reviews, testing, debugging, and continuous integration, with a focus on memory- and threading-sensitive components and secure database access when applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with C++, including mature or legacy codebases.
• Strong knowledge of low-level programming, pointers and memory management, bounds checking and memory safety.
• Experience preventing or remediating buffer overflows, memory corruption, unsafe input handling, and similar vulnerabilities.
• Experience with threading/multithreading; product is largely single-threaded but contains threaded components.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in close collaboration with architects, QA engineers, security experts, and existing product developers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze assigned security requirements and security findings.
• Implement security-related changes in the healthcare product.
• Remediate vulnerabilities such as unsafe input and memory issues.
• Work with a large legacy C++ codebase focusing on memory-sensitive logic.
• Maintain and improve existing threading components.
• Identify technical impact and regression risks before modifications.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Continuously integrate changes into the product and collaborate with the client’s developers and architects.
