Job summary

SoftServe is seeking a Security Architect to shape the security architecture of a large-scale healthcare product used in on-premise environments. You will work with a mature C++ monolithic app and a Qt-based UI, defining architectural solutions that balance security with stability and scalability.

You’ll collaborate with architects, developers, and security experts to strengthen the product’s security posture and guide long-term technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software architecture and enterprise system design.
• Proven track record designing solutions for large-scale monolithic applications.
• Advanced experience with legacy C++ codebases and architectural patterns.
• Familiarity with Qt-based desktop applications and on-premise environments.
• Experience introducing architectural changes while maintaining stability and continuity.
• Strong understanding of low-level software concepts like memory management, concurrency, and threading.

About The Role

In this role, you will shape the security architecture of a large-scale healthcare product used in on-premise environments.

Working with a mature C++ monolithic application and Qt-based user interface, you will define architectural solutions that address complex security requirements while maintaining system stability, scalability, and compatibility.

You will collaborate closely with architects, developers, and security experts to strengthen the product's security posture and guide long-term technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze security requirements from software, system, and enterprise architecture perspectivesDefine how security requirements should be implemented within the existing product


• Design secure solutions that address application-level, system-level, and infrastructure-level security challenges


• Assess technical impact, architectural dependencies, implementation complexity, and associated risks


• Determine whether requirements should be addressed at application or infrastructure level


• Define secure approaches for areas such as file processing, database access, authentication, external integrations, and other trust boundaries.


• Guide developers during implementation


• Review proposed technical solutions


• Ensure that changes remain compatible with the existing legacy architecture


• Partner with Security Specialists and client stakeholders to support prioritization, decision-making, and risk mitigation activities


• Support technical prioritization and decision-making

Requirements

• Proven track record designing solutions for large-scale monolithic applications


• Advanced experience working with legacy C++ codebases and associated architectural patterns


• Familiarity with Qt-based desktop applications and on-premise enterprise environments


• Experience introducing architectural changes into mature systems while maintaining stability and business continuity


• Solid understanding of low-level software engineering concepts, including memory management, concurrency, and threading


• Ability to determine the most appropriate implementation layer for security requirements across application, architecture, and infrastructure domains


• Experience within healthcare, regulated industries, or security-sensitive products is considered an advantage


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate security requirements into practical architectural solutions
