Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Security Architect to engage directly with customers across the EMEA region, focusing on Italy, and to collaborate with a 12-person team and a larger 25-person Italian unit.

You will lead security assessments, design secure configurations, and drive proactive optimization in close partnership with clients. You will communicate complex security concepts clearly, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to delivering exceptional client

• Comprehensive expertise in cybersecurity concepts, network security and CDN principles.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical topics to customers.
• Ability to prioritize in a dynamic customer setting while building professional relationships.
• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and willingness to share knowledge.
• Solution-oriented with the ability to identify blockers and design effective resolutions.
• Fluency in English required; Italian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer consultations via calls with a Security Consultant to identify challenges and propose tailored Akamai solutions.
• Prepare security assessments of existing customer setups and suggest actionable improvements.
• Design, deploy, and verify security configurations; explain testing processes on Akamai staging network.
• Provide daily support to long-term customers to keep setups optimized and compliant with security best practices.

The team includes 12 members promoting collaboration, growth, and knowledge sharing. As a Security Architect, you'll support the EMEA market, focusing on Italy. Collaboration with a 25-person Italian team is key, with occasional support for other EMEA accounts. This position highlights teamwork, diverse perspectives, and delivering exceptional client services in a connected, supportive environment.

This Security Architect position involves consultative, customer-facing responsibilities with full client interaction. It requires daily engagement with external customers in Italy, a region demanding quick responses, clear prioritization, and extensive technical expertise.

As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Providing customer consultation by participating in calls with a Security Consultant to identify challenges and recommend customized solutions using Akamai's portfolio.

• Preparing security assessments of existing customer setups and suggesting actionable improvements to enhance overall security measures effectively.

• Designing, deploying, and verifying security configurations; clarifying testing processes on the Akamai staging network for customers as required.

• Providing daily assistance to long-term customers, ensuring their setup stays optimized and aligned with current security best practices.

• Exhibit comprehensive expertise in cybersecurity concepts, network security and Content Delivery Network principles (a mandatory requirement).

• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills to effectively articulate intricate technical concepts through verbal, written, and listening abilities.
