Job summary

Akamai's Information Security team safeguards Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. As a Security Architect, you will design and evolve scalable security architectures, lead practical implementations, and collaborate across engineering, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver data-driven security solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security data-related solutions across large-scale enterprise environments.

Akamai's Information Security team is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. You will address global security challenges and make the Internet a safer place, powered by the scale of Akamai's platform.

Shape Internet Security

In this role, you will enhance the security of Akamai's security posture by identifying and helping remediate risks and vulnerabilities. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading security experts on a global team.

As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for:

• Designing, building, and evolving scalable security architectures, processes, and data-driven solutions that improve vulnerability visibility, asset intelligence, and attack surface management.
• Leading the implementation of practical solutions, that address security challenges, prioritizing development of sustainable systems and measurable outcomes over documentation-driven initiatives.
• Exploring complex systems, data sources to identify opportunities for integration, improve data reliability, and strengthen security capabilities through continuous innovation.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, security, and infrastructure teams, communicate complex concepts, align priorities, and translate technical challenges into actionable solutions
• Driving a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across while supporting and mentoring engineers through technical leadership and collaboration

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience leading and delivering cybersecurity data related solutions across large-scale enterprise environments, including security, networking, and big data technologies.
• Have extensive experience in system and application development, operating systems and cloud architecture, combined with deep technical expertise and hands-on approach
• Have cross-functional technologies knowledge (network security, detection, and response, threat management, vulnerability scanning and management, etc.)
• Have demonstrated proficiency in modern development languages and CI/CD pipelines
• Have a deep understanding of how to apply AI/LLM technologies to solve security and operational problems
• Be comfortable collaborating across organizational boundaries, and be able to explain complex concepts to audiences ranging from engineers to senior leadership
