Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED completion.
• Physically and mentally alert.
• Ability to get along with people.
• Ability to read, write, compute and communicate.
• Must pass health requirements set by authorities.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• State Competency Test for Cooks.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly menus for planning food preparation.
• Prepare a variety of menu items for daily service.
• Maintain temperature readings.
• Assemble, measure and mix ingredients.
• Supervise or assist with cleaning and storage areas.
• Record receipts, inventories and orders; input data when applicable.
• Train substitute cooks and explain program goals to students and staff.
• Assist with preparation of meals for students and adults.
