Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook food according to corporate standards for high-volume operations. You will handle mise en place, maintain safety and quality, and ensure proper storage and labeling of products.

The role requires proven cooking experience, a Food Safety Certification, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills and physical stamina are essential.

Formación

• Proven cooking experience, including restaurant prep or line cook work.
• Food Safety Certification required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
• Excellent understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment.
• Accuracy and speed in task execution.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to perform duties.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, pre cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place and other items for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food in proper areas.
• Communicate effectively with appropriate operational departments.
• Report maintenance needs or accidents to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Description

Prepares food in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
