Job summary

Planet is hiring a Data Scientist to join its AI team and lead commercial data science work. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance to turn customer and revenue data into actionable models and insights that drive revenue, reduce churn, and surface cross-sell opportunities.

This hands-on role requires ownership of end-to-end modelling, productionisation, and clear communication to stakeholders across business functions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied data science with commercial focus
• Strong SQL and Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and production-grade code
• Experience deploying models in cloud environments and delivering business impact

Responsibilities

• Build churn prediction models and identify at-risk cohorts
• Develop propensity models for cross-sell and upsell opportunities
• Design attribution frameworks across marketing channels and touchpoints
• Design and analyse A/B tests and quasi-experiments
• Take models from notebook to production and monitor lifecycle
• Communicate findings clearly to non-technical audiences
