Job summary

Novella Prep seeks a credentialed special education teacher for middle or high school within its Study Skills program. The role focuses on executive functioning development and integrating those skills into academic achievement and workforce readiness.

The ideal candidate has state or provincial credentials in special education, at least four years of classroom teaching, and experience supporting diverse middle school learners. The position is fully remote or in-person.

Qualifications

• State or provincial teaching credentials in special education.
• Minimum 4 years of classroom teaching experience.
• Experience supporting middle school learners with diverse learning needs.
• Strong skills in executive functioning instruction, time management, and student engagement.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully virtual or in-person environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet virtually with students each week to build study skills and executive functioning.
• Support development of writing, note-taking, focus strategies, and academic enrichment.
• Foster independence, confidence, and responsibility while addressing learning needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and staff, providing progress updates.
• Attend team meetings to discuss student growth and improvement.
• Perform additional duties as assigned (e.g., copyediting, resource development).
