Job summary

Buildout is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the AI strategy and roadmap for the Broker Operating System. You will shape which AI skills are built, how they interact with existing workflows, and balance deterministic rules with LLM-based reasoning.

You will collaborate daily with engineering and design to ship high-quality software for commercial real estate, driving customer value through rapid prototyping and evidence-based decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in product management, including 1–2 AI/ML or LLM-powered features shipped to real users.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping tools (Claude, Cursor, Replit).
• Comfort with prompt and context engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Strong product discovery skills, including customer interviews and problem validation.
• Experience partnering closely with Engineering and Design to ship high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
• Enough technical depth to trade off model, data, and latency with engineers.
• Clear communication to technical and non-technical audiences, and comfort with ambiguity and probabilistic outcomes.
• Bonus if you have CRE, proptech, or vertical SaaS experience.
• Bonus if you’ve built assistants, copilots, or agentic products before.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI and determine which skills to build and in what order.
• Be customer facing: engage with customers, observe workflows, test AI skills in live environments, and feed insights into the roadmap.
• Prioritize the backlog by broker value, feasibility, and quality risk from concept to launch and iteration.
• Define what "good enough" means by maintaining eval sets and quality bars for each skill.
• Decide deterministic vs LLM approaches per skill and balance rule-based vs model-based solutions.
• Own prompt, context, and retrieval design and improve it against measured evaluations.
• Set guardrails: grounding in real records, permission-scoping, confirm-before-action, hallucination controls.
• Turn broker workflows into engineer-ready skill specs with trigger, read/write operations, and surface.
• Ask sharp questions and unblock engineering.
• Measure product outcomes and model quality, monitor latency and cost.
