Job summary

Coherent Solutions is seeking a senior Python backend engineer to own and evolve scalable services built with Django/FastAPI, asyncio, and distributed architectures. You will work on APIs, data pipelines, and Kafka-based messaging, deploying in containerized environments on AWS or similar cloud platforms.

The role requires ~5+ years of backend experience, strong SQL (PostgreSQL), CI/CD, and English at B2 level or higher.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Strong Django or FastAPI experience and asyncio.
• Production Kafka experience.
• Distributed systems or microservices background.
• Containerized apps with Docker.
• Experience with SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• CI/CD and test automation familiarity.
• Monitoring/logging with Prometheus or Grafana.
• English level B2 or higher.
• Experience working in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend services from design through deployment and maintenance.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed backend services using Python and Django.
• Architect distributed systems to support millions of users with low latency and high availability.
• Own APIs, data pipelines, and event streams (Kafka) and caching layers.
• Optimize throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience under load.
• Implement robust testing strategies (unit/integration/performance).
• Improve development processes and system observability (monitoring/logging).
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship features on timelines.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and architecture discussions.
