Job summary

Altimi is seeking an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join a project for a public institution in Germany. You will administer and monitor SQL Server environments, optimize performance, and implement HA/DR strategies while collaborating with international teams.

Requirements include 3+ years of SQL Server administration, Azure SQL familiarity, and English proficiency; German language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.
Experience with HA/DR mechanisms (Always On, replication, clustering).
Familiarity with cloud database services (Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance).
Knowledge of monitoring/automation tools (PowerShell, Azure Monitor).
Proven track record on MS SQL Server development/maintenance projects in recent years.

Responsibilities

Administer and monitor Microsoft SQL Server environments (installation, configuration, updates).
Manage database performance – query, index, and execution plan optimization.
Configure and oversee backup, replication, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
Manage database access permissions and security.
Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues and incidents.
Collaborate with development teams on database structure design.
Document environments and maintenance procedures.
