Job summary

Telnyx is looking for a hands-on telecom operations engineer to join our Core Wireless Squad. You’ll diagnose subscriber issues, decode traces, and keep the mobile core healthy across roaming partners and vendors.

You’ll work in a remote role with a global team, performing deep protocol investigations and platform operations while leveraging Ansible, Kubernetes, and PCAP tooling to speed resolutions and improve observability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years operating or engineering telecom infrastructure (EPC, HSS/HLR, DRA, STP, PGW, SMF).
• Strong understanding of Diameter, SS7/MAP/TCAP, GTPv2-C/U.
• Comfort reading pcap traces with tshark/Wireshark.
• Solid Linux systems skills and automation tooling (Ansible).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot subscriber issues and decode traces across EPC protocols.
• Manage HSS/HLR, STPs, PGWs, SMFs, and GTP proxies.
• Coordinate with roaming partners and vendor NOCs.
• Respond to on-call incidents and write post-incident summaries.
