Job summary

Contour Education seeks a Mathematics Subject Matter Expert to create original maths content on a freelance, per-project basis. Work from India, remotely, with clear briefs and deadlines, delivering questions, worked solutions, and assessments for Grades 9 to 12 aligned to the VCE and Pre-VCE syllabi.

You’ll write in a tutor’s voice for independent student use, manage your own schedule, and have the potential for ongoing work or a full-time seat if desired.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematics, comfortable across Grades 9 to 12, VCE ideally.
• Clear content and worked solutions with a sample or portfolio to show it.
• Excellent written English and sharp attention to detail.
• Reliability to deadlines and the self-management that freelance work needs.
• Cross-timezone comfort, with some overlap into Australian time for briefs and feedback.

Responsibilities

• Take briefs and build. Produce original maths content to a clear spec: questions, worked solutions, booklet sections, and assessments.
• Write like a tutor. Deliver step-by-step, student-friendly solutions that explain the reasoning, not just the answer.
• Align to the syllabus. Match the VCE and Pre-VCE curricula for accuracy, consistency, and fit.
• Deliver to deadline. Manage your own schedule and hand work in on time, to spec.
• Revise cleanly. Take feedback and turn it around without losing quality.
