Job summary

YO IT Consulting is seeking experienced Manufacturing Design Engineers to contribute to an advanced mechanical design and manufacturing project. You will use FreeCAD or similar parametric CAD platforms to create production-ready components and assemblies.

The role emphasizes CAD validation, technical documentation, and applying Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure designs are practical and ready for production in a remote setting, making a strong impact on AI-related hardware

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience designing mechanical components for manufacturing environments.
• Proficient in FreeCAD and parametric CAD workflows.
• Experience creating production-ready drawings with GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed parametric 3D CAD models using FreeCAD.
• Develop engineering drawings with GD&T for manufacturing handoff.
• Design components for CNC machining, sheet metal, plastics, injection molding.
• Perform CAD validation and QA reviews to ensure production readiness.
• Prepare technical documentation and assembly instructions.
• Incorporate reviewer feedback to improve CAD models and drawings.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to ensure manufacturability.
• Identify and resolve modeling and dimensional issues before handoff.
