Job summary

Materialise Manufacturing is seeking a motivated Design Engineer to develop expertise in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) and AM technologies. You will transform concepts into optimized, manufacturable AM solutions across aerospace, medtech, semiconductor, and consumer products, collaborating with customers, sales and production teams.

You will design and optimize parts for AM, work with local production to improve quality and efficiency, and contribute to scalable manufacturing

Qualifications

Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Experience in design or engineering role (1–3 years).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and additive manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with sales and stakeholders to understand requirements and project expectations.
Design and optimize parts and assemblies for additive manufacturing.
Work with production teams to improve quality and process efficiency.
Support scalable and repeatable solutions for series manufacturing.
Contribute to Eyewear business through tool development and design optimization.
Self-manage projects from request to delivery with clear documentation and deadlines.
Occasionally participate in customer visits, trade fairs and workshops.
Share DfAM/AM knowledge with the team and stay updated on new AM technologies.
