Job summary

Masabi is building a next-generation data platform in Poland, turning Kafka events into a governed lakehouse on AWS. You will join a small data team that designs and builds end-to-end data services, from ingestion to analytics, applying production-grade engineering and CI practices.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with a modern lakehouse stack including Iceberg, Athena, Lake Formation, Kafka, Avro and Terraform, in a fully remote role based in Poland.

Qualifications

• Solid software engineering fundamentals: write production code, test well, use Git and CI.
• AI fluency: use AI coding tools daily and verify output, esp. SQL and schema changes.
• Good SQL and experience building or running data pipelines with data from source to query.
• Solid grasp of data modeling and relationships within datasets.
• Clear, confident English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Build and run services that ingest Kafka topics into Iceberg tables on AWS, including partitioning and backfills.
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews and standards.
• Work with data contracts, Avro schemas, and CI checks enforcing rules.
• Implement privacy and access controls for personal data within the platform.
• Develop the query layer behind the data API and enable access through Athena.
• Evaluate approaches, measure performance and cost, document decisions.
• Migrate dashboards and reports to the new platform.
• Contribute to creating curated metrics and BI-ready datasets.
