Job summary

FinanceWithin, LLC. is seeking a Controller to lead a pod of accounting managers, bookkeepers, and clients.

You will oversee weekly and monthly reporting, ensure data accuracy, and act as a strategic advisor with a strong focus on automation and AI-enabled solutions in a multi-client e-commerce environment. The ideal candidate has extensive full-cycle accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and proven leadership in remote or distributed teams, delivering high-quality financial insights for client

Qualifications

7+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
2+ years in a multi-client or consulting role.
2+ years leading a team.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Advanced level expertise in QBO and Excel.
NetSuite and Xero experience valued.
Experience with e-commerce clients required.
Experience with Shopify, Amazon, PayPal, Bill.com etc. required.
Experience with Wholesale/Retail platforms like SPS Commerce, Target, etc. valued.
Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
Audit or Due Diligence experience valued.
Strong financial statement evaluation ability.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Ability to work in remote environment.
Proactive and team-centric attitude.

Responsibilities

Oversee month-end close and all key accounting activities for your pod.
Financial Package Review: Reviewing management reports with key metrics.
Accounting Package Review: Ensuring reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and trend analysis.
Inventory management review including obsolescence and product costs.
Review AR processing and aging reports (no collections).
Review AP processing and aging and bill payments (Bill.com).
Review payroll processing including journal entries and accruals.
Provide ad hoc reports or details as requested.
Provide dashboards and KPIs to clients.
Help clients develop finance SOPs and best practices.
Educate clients as a strategic advisor on financials.
Oversee client communications and act as escalation point.
Supervise and train team on duties.
Develop SOPs and training documents; contribute as thought partner.
Lead training sessions.
Drive efficiencies, automation, and AI enablement.
Manage pod budget and maintain documentation.
