Job summary

Tenchijin Inc. is seeking a Cloud Engineer for the Global South Project, an 18-month remote contract designed to design, build, and deploy a scalable AI-ready analytics platform for utilities and infrastructure operators.

You will provision, configure, and operate cloud resources and automate tasks using infrastructure as code, under the guidance of a Senior Cloud Architect. The role emphasizes multi-tenant onboarding, cost monitoring, and incident response, with a focus on security,

Qualifications

• Associate/professional cloud certification.
• Exposure to multi-cloud or multi-region deployments.
• Experience supporting data-intensive or geospatial workloads.
• Experience working in a cross-functional POD / squad delivery model.

Responsibilities

• Provision and configure cloud resources (compute, storage, networking, databases, Kubernetes clusters) across environments using infrastructure as code.
• Fully automate infrastructure deployment: no manually created production resources; everything reproducible from version-controlled code.
• Implement and maintain system monitoring, alerting, and dashboards for infrastructure health, capacity, and cost.
• Support multi-tenant onboarding: provisioning tenant environments, quotas, and access controls per the platform's isolation model.
• Execute patching, upgrades, and backup/restore procedures; validate disaster-recovery runbooks.
• Respond to infrastructure incidents within the on-call rotation; contribute to post-incident improvements.
• Implement cost-optimization measures directed by the Cloud Operations Manager (right-sizing, lifecycle policies, scheduling).
• Document infrastructure configurations and operational runbooks.
