Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering or a related field.
• Substantial experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, tender prep, or technical review.
• Strong ability to interpret construction specs, drawings and bills of quantities.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials and building systems.
• Proficiency with Excel or Calc for budgets and unit conversions.
• Ability to read lengthy PDFs and structured data, and distinguish facts from assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Design realistic civil engineering tasks based on construction workflows.
• Interpret tender documents, specs, drawings, schedules and pricing.
• Prepare and verify quantity takeoffs, cost estimates and budgets.
• Match work to pricing entries, check materials, units, conversions and scope.
• Identify missing info, conflicts, duplicates, and document clarifications.
• Create traceable reference solutions with citations and justified assumptions.
• Review AI outputs and verify reference answers for accuracy.
