Job summary

Aries.com is hiring a Brokerage Operations Manager to lead and optimize our brokerage operations. You will supervise the operations team, manage daily controls and reconciliations, and serve as a registered principal, interfacing with Apex Clearing to resolve breaks and service issues.

You will work across Compliance, Risk, Trading, Product, Engineering, and advisors to diagnose problems, implement lasting fixes, and drive automation and dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in brokerage, clearing, or broker-dealer operations.
• FINRA Series 24 required or willingness to obtain within 90 days; Series 7 and SIE are required.
• Experience with a fully disclosed clearing firm, ideally Apex.
• Strong grasp of the U.S. securities trade lifecycle, cashiering, ACATS, margin, and corporate actions.
• Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets and handling large data sets across systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, and coach the operations team, set clear standards, and keep everyone accountable.
• Serve as the registered principal over operations and maintain Written Supervisory Procedures.
• Oversee daily reconciliations, controls, and exception reviews.
• Act as main contact for Apex Clearing; resolve breaks, rejects, and service issues.
• Investigate and clear position, cash, trade, settlement, margin, and buying power breaks.
• Manage equities and listed options through the trade lifecycle, including exercises and corrections.
• Oversee money movement, ACATS, new accounts, and account maintenance.
• Stay ahead of margin calls, corporate actions, and other operational exceptions.
• Find recurring problems and implement permanent fixes; avoid workarounds.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to automate tasks and improve dashboards.
• Assist Compliance with FINRA/SEC exams and regulatory reporting.
• Support advisor onboarding and book transitions as we grow.
