Darwin Recruitment is hiring an Infrastructure & Cloud Security Lead (DRWN) for a fully remote, Europe-based freelance engagement. You will own a growing AWS cloud platform, manage core infrastructure, deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines, and the observability stack, plus cloud security, access control, and networking, while keeping cloud spend under control as volume scales.

The ideal candidate is a senior SRE/Cloud Engineer with hands-on AWS, Kubernetes (ideally EKS), Terraform IaC,

Qualifications

• Senior SRE/Cloud Engineer with hands-on AWS experience.
• Kubernetes in production, ideally on EKS.
• Terraform IaC experience.
• CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Monitoring/observability tooling experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
• AWS IAM, secrets management, secure networking knowledge.
• Experience with API gateways.
• Enterprise SaaS tools integrations experience.
• FinOps and cloud cost management.
• Able to work afternoon CET hours for US overlap.
• Nice to have: NIS2 compliance knowledge; LLM tooling exposure.

Responsibilities

• Own a growing AWS cloud platform and core infrastructure.
• Manage developer deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stack.
• Oversee cloud security, access control, and networking.
