Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Operations Manager for Poland to lead daily freight activities, optimize performance, and build a strong operations team.

You will ensure shipments are executed safely, compliantly, and cost-efficiently while coordinating with customers and partners across rail, air, and ocean networks. The role requires fluency in Polish and strong English, with a background in international freight operations and a degree in logistics

Responsibilities

• Lead daily freight operations in Poland, ensuring on-time, accurate shipments.
• Develop and motivate the operations team, including training and performance management.
• Oversee end-to-end shipments from booking to delivery, managing disruptions and billing accuracy.
• Coordinate with customers, rail carriers, terminals, customs brokers, international partners, and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with customs, safety standards, and company policies; enforce controls.
• Drive continuous improvement by monitoring KPIs, improving processes, and developing rail freight services.

Overview

As the Freight Forwarding Operations Manager, you will lead and manage the daily freight operations in Poland, ensuring shipments are handled reliably, compliantly, and cost-effectively. You will also develop the operations team, improve service quality and operational performance, and implement best practices aligned with AIT standards and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily freight operations, ensuring shipments are executed safely, accurately, on time, and in line with customer requirements.
• Lead, develop, and motivate operations team, including training, performance management, resource planning, and recruitment support.
• Oversee shipments from booking through delivery, proactively managing disruptions, escalations, exceptions, documentation, and billing accuracy.
• Coordinate with customers, rail carriers, terminals, customs brokers, international partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless end-to-end execution.
• Ensure compliance with customs and trade requirements, safety standards, company policies, and customer SOPs, while maintaining strong operational controls.
• Drive operational performance and continuous improvement by monitoring KPIs, improving processes, controlling costs, supporting quotations and forecasts, and developing rail freight services in line with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Polish and very good written and spoken English skills
• Proven experience in rail/ air/ ocean freight logistics
• Strong knowledge of rail/ air/ ocean freight operations, international trade, and customs procedures
• Good understanding of safety and compliance requirements relevant to freight operations
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced operational environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• A bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
