The Opportunity
As an R&D Laboratory Technician, you will take full operational ownership of the shared R&D testing laboratory in Łódź, ensuring a safe, compliant, efficient, and well-organized environment that supports multiple R&D teams. You will be responsible for laboratory readiness, equipment management, HSE compliance, test coordination, and resource planning, while continuously driving improvements in laboratory operations and effectiveness.
This is a hands-on operational role with a strong focus on Health & Safety, laboratory management, equipment oversight, and coordination of testing activities.
How You'll Make An Impact
- Ensure compliance with company HSE standards, local regulations, and laboratory safety requirements.
- Organize and maintain laboratory safety training, onboarding activities, and training records for all users.
- Own day-to-day laboratory operations, including access control, laboratory readiness, and adherence to 5S standards.
- Coordinate laboratory testing activities, balancing business priorities, resource availability, and capacity constraints.
- Manage laboratory equipment inventory and oversee calibration, maintenance, servicing, and equipment lifecycle activities.
- Define calibration requirements and review calibration certificates provided by external service providers.
- Coordinate transportation and movement of test units, including forklift operations where required.
- Collaborate with R&D teams, logistics, HSE representatives, and external suppliers to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
- Create, maintain, and improve laboratory procedures, work instructions, and operational documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, organization, and laboratory performance.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent technical education.
- Experience working in a laboratory, test facility, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Experience managing shared equipment, facilities, or laboratory resources is an advantage.
- Understanding of equipment calibration, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Hands‑on, practical approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid forklift operator license.
