Job summary

Takeda is seeking a Director to join the RATIO team to lead asset transitions, including wind-downs, divestments and externalizations. You will head a team of transition professionals and own a portfolio of live transitions, driving digitization and process optimization.

This role sits at the intersection of science, operations and strategy, ensuring quality and data integrity across complex programs. You will shape capabilities, govern operating models, and provide strategic insight to senior

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field; advanced degree welcomed.
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech, esp. R&D strategy and operations or program management.
Demonstrated people management experience, including direct line management.
Global matrix environment delivery experience.
Experience with external counterparties, licensors, CROs, or vendors.
Fluent English for global governance forums.
Working knowledge of R&D processes (clinical development, regulatory, safety, quality).
Strong project management and leading complex, cross-functional programs with external partners.
Leadership in building and retaining high-performing teams.
Experience designing and implementing improved processes or digital tooling in regulated env, with measurable outcomes.
Understanding data and records management (regulatory data transfer, system transitions, archival strategies).
Familiarity with global R&D systems and interactions during transitions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to drive collaboration.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive progress in complex environments.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of transition professionals; set objectives, allocate assignments, and manage performance.
Hold accountability for a portfolio of live transitions; manage budgets, schedules and performance.
Own and/or support digitized, data-driven transition processes.
Drive process optimization across transition archetypes: standardized playbooks, templates, KPIs, continuous improvement.
Govern the operating model, ways of working, and agreements between RATIO and dependent functions.
Provide strategic insight to senior leadership on portfolio status, risk, and resourcing.
Support organizational capability through training curricula and knowledge management.
Ensure compliance and data governance across the portfolio.
Shape Takeda's asset transition execution and RATIO brand.
Lead a team while remaining hands-on with priority transitions.
Work across the full breadth of R&D functions.
Modernize capability with current technology and design the future state.
Represent Takeda to external partners at senior level.
