Job summary

Umicore AG & Co. KG in Nysa, Poland, is seeking a Quality Engineer for Internal Quality to monitor product/process quality, support corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement in the Automotive Quality landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in Engineering, Chemistry, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in a Quality Department, preferably within the automotive industry. At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in quality assurance, product and process quality monitoring, and problem-solving activities.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and VDA 6.3 methodology.
  • Experience in creating, maintaining, and updating system and process documentation.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action management.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to define objectives and effectively drive actions to achieve them.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Valid Category B driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor product and process quality to ensure compliance with customer, internal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support investigations of internal nonconformities related to products, processes, and audits, including root cause analysis.
  • Define, implement, and verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report quality performance indicators.
  • Coordinate product nonconformity tracking and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinate quality decisions and product disposition based on customer and internal specifications.
  • Support product release activities and ensure compliance with applicable quality requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and standards.
  • Promote quality awareness and support initiatives aimed at strengthening the quality mindset across the organization.
  • Ensure workflows, processes, and products comply with relevant safety requirements and standards.
  • Support the preparation of documentation required for customer qualification and assessment audits.
  • Support verification of corrective actions and assessment of their effectiveness following customer and internal audits.
  • Conduct internal process and product audits to ensure compliance with customer requirements, Control Plans, and internal standards.
  • Document audit results, monitor corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and support updates to quality-related documentation.
  • Support product qualification activities, including preparation of customer-specific documentation.
  • Coordinate customer sample schedules and shipments.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence projects.
  • Establish and improve internal processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and update the Quality Documentation System and support ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 audits.
  • Act as Process Owner for the Continuous Improvement Process.
  • Participate in Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Energy Management Systems in line with assigned roles and responsibilities.

Your Key Accountabilities
