Job summary

Trident BMC Sp. z o. o., part of Trident Maritime Systems, seeks a Quality Control Inspector to plan, coordinate and direct QC activities for steel structures, pipelines and related products.

You will inspect, test, and witness FATs, manage documentation, and collaborate with QA teams and suppliers. Willingness to travel within Poland and abroad is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in quality control.
• Theoretical and practical supervision knowledge.
• Knowledge of technical docs and ship-class rules.
• Good knowledge of NDT methods.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Degree in mechanics, welding or materials science.
• Experience in QC of steel structures and pipes.
• Willing to travel Poland and abroad.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct a quality control program.
• Assess production processes and recommend improvements.
• Cooperate with vendors to eliminate nonconformities and implement corrective actions.
• Inspect and test products in steel structures, pipelines and related products.
• Conduct quality inspections on site, including materials, welds, dimensions, and painting.
• Witness FATs and verify project documentation.
• Collect, analyze and approve test results documentation.
• Prepare nonconformity reports and approve finished products.
• Document inspection results in reports and logs.
• Prepare inspection and test plans for projects.
• Cooperate with QA personnel and managers.
• Perform NDT activities on project sites.

Job description

• Plan, coordinate, and direct a quality control program designed to ensure the required quality level of products and services, consistent with established industry and/or client standards
• Assess production processes, identify issues and recommend improvements
• Cooperate with vendors to eliminate nonconformities and implement required corrective actions
• Inspect and test products at various stages in the production process of steel structures, pipelines and other steel products
• Conduct quality inspections on site, including checking materials, weldments, dimensions, and painting
• Witness product testing FATs
• Verify project documentation and ensure that it meets project requirements – painting procedures, welding documentation, material certificates
• Collect, analyze and approve the received documentation of test results
• Prepare nonconformity reports
• Approve finished products by confirming compliance with specifications
• Document inspection results in reports and logs
• Prepare inspection and test plans for projects
• Cooperate with Quality Assurance personnel and managers
• Perform NDT activities on project sites

Job requirements

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in quality control
• Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of the work being supervised.
• Knowledge of technical documentation and ship classification society rules, as well as material, component and system certification requirements
• Good knowledge of Non-Destructive methods
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Relevant higher education in the field of mechanics, welding, materials science
• Good skills and experience in quality control of steel structures, pipes, mechanical components
• Candidates must be willing and able to travel both within Poland and abroad

Additional qualifications and experience that will be an advantage:

• Experience in the shipbuilding/marine/offshore industry
• IWE/IWI-C certification
• Qualification in NDT LVL 2 in VT, PT, MT per ISO 9712
