Job summary

BGC Partners in Warsaw is seeking a senior QA professional to join our global trading technology teams.

You will own QA for GBX, develop automated test cases, define metrics, and coordinate QA activities across releases with Dev and Product teams.

The role requires 7+ years in QA, 3+ years leading teams, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with JIRA, UNIX, and trading platforms.

We offer a hybrid work model with four days in the office and one day remote, in a dynamic financial environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• 7+ years QA/testing experience in global finance.
• 3+ years leading QA teams.
• Experience with SQL and test automation.
• Familiarity with JIRA.
• Understanding of SDLC and trading platforms.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux; FIX protocol is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in QA for GBX, the firm’s flagship front-office platform for trading Fixed Income and derivatives.
• Establish metrics, apply best practices, and develop new QA tools to meet quality goals.
• Act as key QA contact for releases and coordinate QA resources.
• Create and maintain automated test cases for the team.
• Collaborate with Development and Product to ensure high-quality feature delivery.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures (manual & automated).

Responsibilities:

• Participating in the Quality Assurance function for GBX, the firm’s flagship front-office platform for trading Fixed Income, and Interest Rate and Credit derivatives as well as various Middle office systems.
• Participate in all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
• Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources.
• Create and maintain automated test cases for the team
• Work with Development and Product teams to ensure high-quality delivery of features.
• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated).

Skills Required:

• Minimum of 7 years QA/Testing experience, preferably within a global financial firm
• Minimum of 5 years actively working on financial systems
• Minimum of 3 years leading or managing a team of QA Engineers
• Understanding of Trading Platforms and Trade processing. Experience within Credit and Rates Bond & Derivatives preferred
• Test planning skills; requirements mapping, test design and troubleshooting are essential.
• Experience with automated test creation and maintenance
• Experience with defect reporting and tracking tools such as JIRA
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of the entire software development lifecycle
• Self-motivator
• Working knowledge of SQL

Preferred:

• Knowledge of Front office Trading Techniques
• Knowledge of UNIX/ Linux platforms
• Knowledge of performance testing techniques
• Experience in automating Java applications is a plus
• Experience with FIX protocol is a plus
• Experience in Java, XML, JSON and Web services is a plus

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required

Hybrid Working -

We are currently operating a hybrid model for our shared services employees (including this role). We anticipate continuing these arrangements for the foreseeable future with periodic review. Hybrid for BGC Partners across the working week, means four days office based and one day remote.
