Job summary

Worldline is seeking an experienced Senior Tester to lead quality strategy for software products in Warsaw. You will design test frameworks, mentor junior testers, and advocate for quality across the lifecycle.

You will work with Engineering and Product to reduce tech debt and ensure high-performing, reliable software. Core responsibilities include defining test strategies, building automation, improving processes, and providing technical leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software QA experience shipping high-quality software.
• Experience building or maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on CI/CD integration of automated tests (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Strong API testing with Postman or RestAssured and SQL-based validations.
• Analytical skills to assess risks and inform release readiness.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement test strategies, plans, and automation frameworks.
• Lead design and maintenance of automated test suites to reduce manual testing.
• Identify bottlenecks and apply industry best practices (CI/CD, shift-left).
• Act as QA SME, mentoring junior testers and guiding architecture decisions.
• Perform root cause analysis on production issues with developers.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to bake quality into requirements.

The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Senior Tester to lead the quality strategy for our software products. You will not only be responsible for hands-on testing but also for designing robust test frameworks, mentoring junior team members, and advocating for quality throughout the entire development lifecycle. You will work closely with Engineering and Product teams to reduce technical debt and ensure we deliver high-performing, reliable software.

Day-to-day responsibilities

Core responsibilities

• Strategy & Planning:Define and implement comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test automation frameworks from the ground up.
• Automation:Lead the design and maintenance of automated test suites to ensure high test coverage and reduce manual regression cycles.
• Process Improvement:Identify bottlenecks in the testing process and implement industry best practices (CI/CD integration, shift-left testing).
• Technical Leadership:Act as a subject matter expert for QA; provide technical mentorship to junior testers and influence architectural decisions to improve system testability.
• Root Cause Analysis:Perform deep-dive analysis into complex production issues and coordinate with developers to ensure long-term resolution.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work with Product Managers and Engineering Leads to define clear acceptance criteria and ensure quality is "baked in" from the requirements phase.

Who are we looking for

Requirements (Must-Have)

• Experience:5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance with a proven track record of shipping high-quality software.
• Architecture:Experience building or significantly maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.
• CI/CD Knowledge:Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• API & Backend:Strong experience in API testing (Postman, RestAssured) and ability to perform database validation using SQL.
• Analytical Skills:Strong ability to assess risks and make data-driven decisions regarding release readiness.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience in Performance/Load testing (JMeter, k6, or Gatling).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to lead or mentor a small team or group of testers.
