Job summary

neXa is seeking a Mid-Level QA Engineer to join a cross-functional Product Team in Warsaw. The role combines manual, exploratory, and automated testing to ensure quality, reliability, and resilience of its products.

You'll work with Developers, Product Managers, and stakeholders in a hybrid setup (3 days in office). Hands-on experience with Cucumber is mandatory; basic Java for test automation is sufficient.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software testing / QA experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Cucumber — mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of Gherkin / BDD.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience with Xray for test management and execution.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing.
  • Basic working knowledge of Java and the ability to understand and maintain Java-based test automation code.
  • Experience with CI/CD and automated test execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to approach testing from a product and end-user perspective.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Professional working proficiency in Polish and English.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid model — 3 days per week in the Warsaw office.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and execute manual test scenarios using Gherkin / BDD.
  • Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Cucumber and Playwright.
  • Build product-oriented automated tests with an end-user-first approach.
  • Maintain and improve automated regression test suites and increase test coverage.
  • Identify, analyse, document, and prioritise defects.
  • Investigate issues and collaborate with Developers and Product teams to identify root causes.
  • Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Manage and coordinate test environments.
  • Provide clear reports on testing progress, risks, defects, and overall product quality.
  • Contribute to QA process improvements and the Quality Strategy.
  • Promote shift-left and identify quality issues early.
  • Participate in Bug Triage, 3 Amigos, and Quality Chapter sessions.
  • Share QA best practices and foster continuous improvement.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Mid-Level QA Engineer to join a cross-functional Product Team and take an active role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and resilience of its products.

You’ll combine manual, exploratory, and automated testing, working closely with Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders. The role is ideal for someone with a strong shift-left mindset who sees quality as a shared responsibility throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Hands-on experience with Cucumber is mandatory. Advanced Java skills are not required — basic working knowledge and the ability to work with Java-based test automation are sufficient.
