Job summary

Profitroom is seeking Product Engineers to own technical solutions end-to-end, from backend services to complete user-facing features. You will work with Laravel/Symfony, REST APIs, and microservices, while applying AI tooling like Claude Code to accelerate discovery and implementation.

Hybrid of backend and frontend impact, with opportunities to shape architecture and product scope. Remote-first model, flexible setup, and collaboration with seasoned teams are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Laravel or Symfony and backend system design.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Database design with relational/non-relational systems; caching & queues.
• Docker and CI/CD pipelines experience required.
• Frontend exposure with JS/TS is a plus; AI coding tools valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of backend services or full feature sets.

We are looking for Product Engineers who don't just execute tickets, but own technical solutions end-to-end.

Whether your primary strength is building robust architectures or crafting seamless full-stack user journeys with Vue.js and TypeScript, you'll drive the technical execution while our Product Managers steer the vision.

Key goals and responsibilities:

• End-to-end delivery: Lead backend services or ship complete user-facing features across frontend and backend.
• Technical discovery & decisions: Validate feasibility, select optimal solutions, and balance customer value with speed and maintainability.
• Production quality: Test, release, monitor, and stay close to the solution during rollout and hypercare.
• AI-augmented development: Leverage Claude Code, MCP servers, custom agents, and internal tooling as core parts of your daily workflow.
• Collaborative ownership: Work closely with PMs, QA, and engineers to evaluate trade‑offs rather than waiting for fully specified tickets.

Choose the profile that best describes you:

• Technical focus: Strong commercial experience with (Laravel or Symfony), backend system design, REST APIs, and microservices/distributed architectures.
• Data & Infra: Experience with relational/non-relational databases, caching, message queues, Docker, and CI/CD.
• Product scope: Openness to working with JS/TS when needed — caring about the full product outcome rather than stopping at the API boundary.
• Backend integration: Commercial experience with and Laravel as a regular part of your work — building APIs, business logic, and backend integrations.
• Product scope: Ability to deliver frontend and backend changes as part of the same feature.

What else will help you succeed?

• AI-native approach: Hands‑on experience using AI coding environments (Claude Code, Cursor) for discovery, debugging, and building repeatable engineering workflows.
• Ownership mindset: Experience shipping software used by real customers and a drive to ask "is this worth building?" before coding.
• Communication: Comfortable communicating in both Polish and English.
• Side projects built and shipped for real users.
• Experience building MCP servers, custom AI agents, or internal tooling.
• Practical exposure to Event Sourcing, CQRS, or complex system integrations.

We do not expect every candidate to be equally experienced with every technology listed above.

Hands‑on experience with Claude Code, Cursor or an equivalent AI coding environment is important to us.

We are especially interested in people who use AI for more than autocomplete: technical discovery, implementation across unfamiliar parts of the stack, test generation, debugging, codebase exploration, specification‑driven development and building repeatable engineering workflows.

Experience creating MCP servers, agents, skills or internal AI tooling is a strong advantage.

Probably not for you if:

• You are most comfortable when every decision and implementation detail has already been specified
• You want a strictly backend-only or frontend-only scope and consider the rest of the product someone else's responsibility
• Your definition of "done" ends when the code is merged
• You consider testing and production quality primarily the QA team's responsibility
• Your hands‑on AI experience is limited to autocomplete and occasional summaries
• You prefer receiving tasks over understanding and owning the problem behind them
• Discovery call with the Recruiter (up to 45 minutes). We cover your background, what you're looking for, and mutual fit.
• Business & Mindset Fit interview with the Product Manager and Team Leader (up to 45 minutes). We discuss your approach to ownership, business judgment, problem‑solving, and general mindset.
• Technical Deep Dive with the Team Leader and a Developer (up to 45 minutes). Expect concrete technical questions — this may include a code review or a system design exercise. We care about judgment and reasoning, not keyword recall.
• Decision. In case of a tie between candidates, this stage acts as a tiebreaker.

Contract & Compensation: B2B cooperation with monthly compensation up to 30 000 PLN net, depending on experience and agreed scope of services.
