Job summary

Hard Rock Digital is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to guide the Casino Technology Team's backend architecture and technical direction. You will own cross-team systems, mentor senior engineers, and drive AI-assisted development practices across the platform.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience, deep AWS and streaming tech, and hands-on coding with Java/SpringBoot, Docker/Kubernetes, Kafka, and modern SOA approaches. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Min of 10+ years work experience.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools in daily workflow.
• Strong English communication (written and spoken).
• Experience with high-traffic systems and scalable architectures.
• Deep knowledge of AWS Cloud and multi-region deployments.
• Experience with Java/SpringBoot, streaming tech, and SOA/microservices.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction and architecture for cross-team systems.
• Contribute to design and implementation of complex features.
• Mentor Staff and Senior Engineers; review code and guide practices.
• Influence roadmap and architectural decisions with stakeholders.
• Champion AI-assisted development practices across the team.
