Job summary

University of Warsaw invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in the Faculty of Chemistry. The project focuses on surface-functionalized lipid-based nonlamellar nanoparticles as carriers for peptide antibiotics, with leadership by Dr. Ewa Nazaruk.

We seek a PhD holder with publications, experience in SAXS, fluorescence spectroscopy, confocal microscopy, and lipid membrane systems. Duration is 12 months with possible extension; starting December 2026/January 2027.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry or related sciences required by start date
• Proven research publication record in related field
• Experience with SAXS, fluorescence spectroscopy and confocal microscopy
• Knowledge of electrochemical methods (EIS, QCM) is a plus
• Experience in lipid membranes and lipid nanostructures
• Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Good English (B2 or higher)
• Meets art. 113 of the Polish Act

Responsibilities

• Investigate interactions between carriers and model bacterial membranes using SAXS and spectroscopy
• Prepare lipid nanostructures and functionalized versions with antimicrobial peptides
• Characterize nanostructures by SAXS and DLS
• Analyze results and publish findings
• Present at meetings and in journals
• Provide scientific mentoring to project students
• Collaborate with biology researchers
• Maintain thorough scientific documentation
