Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Laboratory of Cellular Proteostasis
The Laboratory of Cellular Proteostasis at the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB), Warsaw, headed by Dr. Lidia Wrobel is looking for Postdoctoral Researcher to join the project entitled “Nuclear protein quality control in neurodegeneration”, which is carried out as the SONATA grant no 2023/51/D/NZ3/01939 grant of the Polish National Science Centre. The project aims to uncover the factors and mechanisms that regulate protein quality control and the ubiquitin–proteasome system (UPS) in the mammalian nucleus. Building on a completed CRISPR/Cas9-based high-throughput screen, it focuses on validating candidate hits, characterising their roles in nuclear protein homeostasis, and assessing their functional relevance in human iPSC-derived neurons and neurodegenerative disease models.
The ideal candidate should be able to pursue challenging tasks and achieve objectives and collaborate with other researchers. Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy.
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be responsible for validating candidate hits from a completed CRISPR/Cas9-based screen and conducting mechanistic studies to investigate their roles in nuclear protein homeostasis. You will assess their functional relevance in human iPSC-derived neurons and neurodegenerative disease models using cell culture, biochemical and molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, and confocal microscopy. Your responsibilities will also include planning experiments, documenting your work in an electronic laboratory notebook, analysing data, and regularly presenting and discussing results.
Requirements for the candidate
Candidates will be selected in an open competition, according to the procedure complying with the rules of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as a part of HR Excellence in Research strategy.
